At Alpha Delta Pi our favorite moments are those spent with our amazing sisters! We are lucky to have such fun sisterhood events throughout the year that help us bond and make lasting memories. These include picnics at the Davis Farmer's Market, ice skating and broomball, trampoline parks, pool parties, mocktail nights, Galentine's Day celebrations, and so much more! Outside of our organized events, sisters go to concerts, sporting events, and even travel the world together!
Our annual retreat is also something we always look forward to. One year it was held at Six Flags, another was a 60s themed roller rink event, and we can't wait to see what will be in store for us this year! In addition to all of our sisterhood events, some of the best memories are made when we're just casually hanging out with our sisters. Whether it's grabbing coffee before class, watching the sunset from Hutchison parking garage, having a study session, or watching The Bachelor together on a Monday night, we are constantly surrounded by sisters that push us to be the best versions of ourselves!
In addition to our sisterhood events that help us get closer as a chapter, we have fun social events throughout the year including formals, semi-formals, date parties, exchanges, and more! Our Vice President of Event Management, Elise Jones, plans our entire social calendar and sisters always have a blast dressing up for different themes and bonding with other organizations in the Greek community.
While we love to go out and have fun, we also value academics here at ADPi and as a chapter we even received the 2nd highest GPA award last year! Having a sisterhood that values academics, philanthropy, sisterhood, and having fun allows us have a valuable college experience that is never dull!
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Alpha Delta Pi is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive sisterhood that celebrates the identities and lived experiences of our members. We want to ensure we are truly embodying our motto, We Live For Each Other, in our words and actions.
On June 3, 2020, Grand Council shared the sorority’s 2020 Strategic Plan for the biennium which includes the prioritization of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Developed over the course of the last few months, this new plan identifies inclusivity as one of the core values of our organization.
As the first secret society for college women, Alpha Delta Pi has existed for over 169 years. While we have a long history and legacy, we recognize our responsibility to acknowledge our contributions to the racist and oppressive systems still in existence today. We are long overdue in taking responsibility to be better for all of our members, especially Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), and other marginalized identity groups.
